My first few weeks in Japan are a bit of a blur i think i was so overwhelmed by this fantastic new culture and trying to take all the new surroundings in, it was quite a shock to the system, so i will post up some pictures that made me snappy happy at the start of my journey in Japan;
Pachinko Slot arcades; i was completely hypnotized at first by these places the noise is just something else this constant rattling and buzz of metal balls. It echos out of the shop when you pass on the street but it is something else when you enter inside, ever experienced ringing ears after clubbing, well i cant imagine the after effects on the ear drums after being in a pachinko arcade. Pachinko Slots are everywhere in japan they are one of the most popular gambling games, part pinball, part video game part slot machine, where you win balls that can be later exchanged for gifts or cash! And you might think these arcades may be seedy joints but the last one i ventured into was rows and rows of business men smartly dressed, apparently it is becoming more popular with the females too now.
Harajuku; The total eccentric bizarre atmosphere you experience in Harajuku is amazing, this is just one garish young pop rock band i snapped in action.
Again Harajuku on a sunday, its not a day of rest for everyone, slick backed hair, leathers on, these men are bopping to the 50`s.
I love exploring down the little side alleys you always find the more traditional unique places with the best grub served to you on the street or in tiny little shacks

This is just one of the small intimate little bar i found
Food in an Isakya.. delicious, Isakayas are great to sit in for hours, shoes off slippers on get comfy on your mat and drink, eat and socialise into the night

I have learnt that Japan is not just high tech in the electronic side of things but the toilets as well. They have just about everything to offer from a warm seat to cleaning devices which is as far as i'll go with details. check out all the buttons and that is only some of them!!! you could spend hours in the restrooms!
Just one food stall that looked of interest!
